Rittenberg Article on Iowa RB's

A lot of talent in Iowa's backfield.

One of the few gripes I have with KF is his tendency to just rely on one RB throughout an entire game. I know a lot of times the reason is the back-up is a young guy that has had extremely limited game experience but thats not the case this year. Keep these guys fresh and use Bullock and Canzeri in some different ways and they could be very dangerous.

I wouldn't say we have a lot of talent. I think bullock is decent, Weisman is a good fullback. Canzeri is tiny and is not yet proven despite massive talk from HN. A lot of talent for me would be backs like shonn Greene, Albert young, sed shaw, Freddie Russell, etc. I think ours are serviceable.

The bolded part is laughable.

He is the Hawks best running back. Hardly just a "good fullback".

I love the guy but he's a full back for me. And true he may be our best rb but I don't know if that even gets him on the field in any of our years where we have backs like shonn, sed, Freddie, banks, AY, etc.

Adam -- heck, everyone -- needs to stop writing about Iowa running backs. No need to taunt this guy.

The one thing that really caught me was the fact that Canzeri talks about them as a group. It isn't an individual thing, but as a group to try and get some wins. This coming from a guy that some people thought there was a chance of him transferring after what happened last year.

And also, the big thing is we need our line to stay healthy. If our line is as good as I think it could be, it doesn't matter who is running the ball, they will get some yards.

We've got three pretty damn good RB's. I also can't wait to see LeShun Daniels get on campus. He looks like he fits perfectly into Iowa's zone blocking scheme. He could be a good one.

We do. We just do.

Not so fast my grapey friend! They must first all stay healthy and all produce before I buy that stock. Hopeful but skeptamacal until I see results. Now we just talkin. Hat and no cattle at this point.

It's not like we're talking true freshman here. We've got three bulls in the barn, to extend your awesome metaphor.

...and the word was "talent" not "production." Granted, talent without production is worth about as much as a Jersey with mastitis, but we're talking about what we're talking about.

I was my high school track team's best distance runner in my one year of running track. I placed 6th at districts, well behind the top 2.

Being the best we have doesn't necessarily make him a good running back. Not saying he isn't, but being our best doesn't make him so.

I too am excited to see Daniels. I think a lot of people are forgetting about him. Same with Canzeri. I'm very excited to see what he can do. Great vision, TONS of speed which is something we need, and doesn't shy away from contact. Anyone know what his weight is up to? Thought I remember someone saying he put on some good weight this offseason.

Based on this article alone, I'm upping my projection to 8-4. It seems like the rational thing to do.

Nice work channeling your inner Al Einstein, Tork!

Is this a tallest midget comment?

Bolded part- Cool story, brah.

But being the best back on the team, which IMO he is, makes him more than just a "good fullback". And that is all my post said.

I didnt say he was one of the best backs in the B1G or teh nation.
