Adam just tweeted: Spoke with an official from University of Iowa Hospitals. All 13 players remain hospitalized. They don't expect any to be released tonight.

Gathered from yesterday's PC that this process could take a while -- as much as a week -- and there's a lot of testing and monitoring to make sure the kidneys are functioning normally. I'm sure the U is using an abundance of caution.

I would imagine that like Poggi's father, a lot of parents have made the trip to IC to be with their athletes. Wonder what sort of meetings have been taking place, including with the KF or others on the staff.

The timing of this- a week before signing day- could not be worse. If this happened two weeks from now KF would be readily available to speak and to answer questions. I hope this does not impact recruiting...

Do you realize that there are 13 young men, who at one time were hallowed recruits, still in the hospital?

Why do they have to show those depressing starving kids in Africa commercials when I'm trying to watch Bridalplasty? Don't these idiots know what's important?

Bummer, hopefully it's mostly precautionary just waiting for levels to get back to normal.

Every case is different but my son was in for 5 1/2 days. Bored out of his mind and tired of peeing, but no pain. He is young and they stay until their PKC (if I remember the letters right) readings dropped to a normal level.

He got real good a the Wii while we were there

I'm glad your son is ok, Easton...I know this condition is serious, but from the sounds of it, from your son's case, easily treatable and mostly "sit and wait"? Which would be awesome news for everyone involved. (players and families) Or am I making too much of your comment?

I wonder how they are going to deal with the aftermath of this situation. These guys are going to be a minimum of 2 weeks behind. It is going to be hard to work them back in. Really brutal break for Bernstine. Kid can't catch a break. Gets Pipp'd by both Prater and Hyde, now when a spot at safety opens up, he will be playing catch-up all Spring.
