I think he’s a hell of an athlete but would like to see him at safety due to lack of cover skills but has good speed and physicality. Do you guys think we could see him make the move to S allowing other young DBs to surface?

KF has a long history of putting smart, sometimes physically challenged (not Sanders!)safeties in NFL. Safety is as much from the neck up, as the neck down. Moss seems to be athletic tho

Kid was a true freshman this year and got his feet wet. And burned. So I think in time he may develop into a good player. I don't think he'll be win a starting gig anywhere on the back end next yr out right. But crazier things have happened.

Was Brents available yesterday? I still think he’s better than OJ. Now that I think about it with MSU’s running style OJ’s tackling was probably a positive in run support and he did a good job with that. He did get beat once down the sideline on a longer pass.

If Hooker bolts could OJ be a possible option at Star? He’s a good tackler, but can’t cover as well as Hooker. OJ may move to safety either way. I think Hankins, Brents, and DJ Johnson will be the top 3 corners moving forward.

Brents was listed as second on the depth chart.

According to Parker in his presser before they left for the bowl, DJ Johnson and Ojemudia have been working at the Star position.

Riley actually had very good position, when he played earlier in the year. 1st he had never played corner only safety in HS. 2nd he did not force the wr to the sideline and last he did not turn around for the ball. But he was normally in good position. He simply was thrust into playing due to injuries. I like his speed, athleticism and size. He will improve a lot in the next year.

Both would be viable options I think.

My only question marks for the defense next year would be MLB (but I think we have some options), and potential interior Dline depth (Nixon eligible?). Should be another very high quality Iowa defense.
