No way you can fly from Denver to anywhere in Florida during bowl season, attend the bowl game, and secure a halfway decent hotel for 2 nights plus transportation for "well under" $1000. That is ludicrous! Also, no way this dude booked a round trip ticket with all fees and taxes for $85 to LV.

$85 each way. And yes, if you book far enough in advance and buy the trip cancellation, you can do a bowl game for under $1,000 for everything, including maybe even dinner at Bern's Steak House in Tampa.
