Resar, R VanWetzinga Portal Bound

Resar...with 4 years of eligibility? Is he gonna be older than Bohannon when he's done?

With that kind of eligibility, it's going to be very interesting to see where he gets a shot and what he's capable of and what he develops into. I wanna wish him the best as a human being. As a Hawk fan though, I wanna believe that the Hawkeye staff accurately assessed his relative ability/development and he doesn't do so great.

I guess in a perfect world, I'd love to see him go undefeated in the MAC, setting all conference passing records, but get his lunch money stolen in every non conference game against mid-grade P5 schools.

In a more perfect world, he does that and then comes back to be the greatest QB coach in Iowa history and never has to buy lunch in town again because under his tutelage, a future Hawk QB leads them to the title. But, I don't really know anything about him. Truly, I could wish the same for the guy who pulls the rope to raise the net for field goals and extra points. Or the real nice lady who works the gate in the northeast corner of Kinnick.

Isn't VanWestinga the fullback that had a pass thrown to him; he juggled it around then dropped it?

I saw a tweet that Johnny Pascuzzi is entering the portal. It said always a Hawkeye. He did have that one pass with a good run after that was a key play in one of the games, kept a drive alive. But I also remember him dropping a pass right into his hands that would have been a first down, he dropped it then pounded the ground.

Dammnit. A good family friend has a son who's dating Pascuzzi's cousin and is almost assuredly headed for the aisle. I sooooo wanted to be at that wedding.

Resar was a true freshman this year. I'm disappointed to see him go. He's 6'4" 220 and ran an electronically times 100 in 10.6. Can't have enough of those athletes.

Nothing that's happened at the QB position since BF had been there should make any of us believe that. I take it more as the kid is a project of sorts and bottom line Lester didn't recruit him BF did. Lester isn't looking for a Tim Tebowish type of throwing project (although I thought he looked good on his HS tape maybe that's just me)

Kid is kicking himself for not reopening his recruitment initially when BF was let go cause he thought about it I'm sure. My guess is he didn't want to change positions he just did so to be a good soldier. I hope he goes to a school closer to home and does well. I don't have any ill will towards him.

Interesting, I wonder if this is going to affect VanWetz
inga's brother who is a committed recruit from PV slated to come here as a LB or FB commit?

He just signed two days ago. I have to think that he had some inkling that this was going to happen. And older brother was a walk-on. As we all know by now they can't keep as many players on the roster next year. The staff may very well have had a conversation with him that he was unlikely to make the cut.

Oh yea, signing day did happen

Just saw a tweet that Marco Lainez has entered the portal.
Saw that too. Lester must not have been too high on him either. Totally cleaning house of BFs debacle of a qb room. Mighta been nice to have him to be 3rd qb for the bowl game but whatever. Kid evidently can't throw the ball for shit cause he can run and take a hit.

Grant Leeper entered today. Too bad. You don't see too many 6' 7" guys with that degree of athleticism, albeit raw.

My guess is, with the new 105 rule, there's just not going to be room for developmental projects.

DL Caden Crawford has also entered the portal. I really thought he would eventually turn into a really good player for the Hawks.
