......... Lickliter was the coach and a team would struggle to get 52 points a game. After watching last night, I don't know how the heck I stomached watching it. A bunch of pasty white boys in a slow half court game.

This team is fun to watch. Yes, we took a loss last night and the D was less than desirable but they are exciting and can score. They are not going to be an easy out in the BIG, especially if they get a little better on D. I suspect as the season goes the game will slow down for a couple of the freshman as well.

I think the future really looks up for Iowa and this is going to be a very competitive team this year. I don't know how Fran is going to shorten the rotation, though.

I'm pasty and white but in the summer I do get tan. But anyway, to hell with you racist. Kirk loves dudes who are slow and white. Maybe he can talk to about tolerance.

Not much offense and a pretty good defense was Lickliter's MO and also that almost sounds footballish.

Lick didn't have good defenses. He just slowed the game down so much that the other team didn't get many possessions.

That may be but he still had to deal with the shot clock. I wonder if the other team didn't start to fall asleep watching Lick's players passing it around the perimeter until it got under ten seconds left on the shot clock. Try to penatrate with ten seconds on the clock, then pass it to a semi open player who throws up a half assed shot or pass it to the outside again for a desperation shot. Either way I am sure the other team was glad when the game was over.

I agree. And they competed. I will take the wins and losses as they come this season, as long as, they compete every game. You are likely right about getting better on D. We need to remember that play really good D at this level requires a commitment that these FR likely had never been required to give, and, they really aren't in B1G level conditioning, yet.

where have i heard this before? Hmmmmm.......

So true. Norm's defenses were as over rated as O'keefe's offenses were. Not to say that the defense wasn't good or the offense wasn't bad. The gap just wasn't near is big as people thought.

They didn't even have enough horses to put on a full or half court press, and I'm not kidding. They rarely pressed and if they did was only out of desperate need when out of a game.

This doesn't make sense. If they pressed when they were out of a game, they would press for 35 minutes a game. As soon as they had an insurmountable deficit of 6. :)
