Recruits At Wisconsin Game

I have to agree with O'K4P on this one. I believe Nebraska will become relevant again. That is why I relish in their sorrow in the now. I'm not sure yet if Frost is the coach who will do it for them or not. His ceiling is Oregon under Chip Kelly. Could he ever get Nebraska to the heights of Oregon from years past? It certainly is much harder to do in the B1G. He also doesn't have Phil Knight getting him insane players at Nebraska.

Simple reasoning still points to Nebraska becoming a player again. If Frost doesn't do it, 3-5 years from now we will be having the same conversation about some new Nebraska coach.
Yet Oregon went what 50-60% against MSU and Stanford (Stanford is closer to a b10 than most pac 12 teams).
That gimmick playing is his staple. It's his calling card.
Like I said, others have tried it in the b10.

I stated that it was much harder to make work in the B1G. I think the recruiting disadvantage at Nebraska vs what Chip Kelly and Phil Knight had going at Oregon will be the bigger obstacle in Frost's success. I believe without a doubt that if Frost brought in back to back top 10 classes filled with guys that fit the system he could easily take the West. The thing is I just don't believe Nebraska can recruit top 10 classes anymore without cheating.

P.S. those MSU and Stanford squads were very good teams.

Nebraska will never be dominant, but at some point, they are going to at least get back to where Pelini had them. Their offense won't stay as this gimmick thing forever. There's no reason Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin shouldn't be relatively equal in the division, with the team drawing the softest crossover games having the edge in many years.

This is accurate. However, the problem with nebby fans is they still truly truly believe they are 3-4 years from not just being a contender in the B1G West, but dominating it, winning B1G titles every other year.

and I quote "it's just nice be see that we are able to compete with the top programs again"..... I shit you not, I've heard that in some form at least 10 times in the last week. I asked "are you referring to an average CO team or the decent Troy team as a top program". Good lord they are delusional.

nebby will be solid again, or at least they should be. Solid being a 8-9 win team with occasional outliers every 3-4 years. Even with the B1G West not looking very good so far, you still have to play 9 B1G games.... and that isn't the same as the Big8 / Big12 in the 90's....not even close.

For future reference, I usually post these on Wednesday or Thursday for the weeks of home games.

(Lengthy) Breaking Down A Big Weekend For Hawkeye Football Recruiting

@RobHowe - according to the CBS article, Cameron Williams is going to be in town as well. I don't see him in your article. Any idea?

There will be a couple other intriguing 2019s in town that could ultimately be offered by Kirk Ferentz and his staff down the road. Merrillville (Ind.) Andreas Top247 linebacker Cameron Williams is a no-brainer regarding his potential on the field. He’s still getting other details squared away but no question Ferentz and company will be excited to see the four-star in Iowa City.

Listen, you can't run that crap and have sustainable success. If you could everyone would be doing it. Alabama, all of them.
Look at Northwestern. I don't know what ranking classes they bring in, but still.
It's called the veer.
Nebraska didn't invent it. They just exploited the recruiting rules at a high level with it.
