Recruits At Wisconsin Game

Does anyone know which recruits will be at the Iowa/ Wisconsin game? Also, is Iowa looking at JaVonte Richardson out of IWCC? 6’4” 210 lb. WR with 3 catches/ 152 yds./ 2 TD’s in 3 games so far. Averaging 50.7 yds per catch! He’s a Fr. so would have 3 yrs. left of eligibility.

That is 47 Kids! How do they keep track of them all?! I hope Kirk is amazing at remembering names!

I remember Jeremy McKinney from the late 90’s. I assume both boys are big humans.

There was a kid from Winona, MN. Wasn’t that where Karl Klug was from?

Klug was from Caledonia. It's about an hour south of Winona.

And, yes, a nice game from Iowa's receivers would be helpful with recruiting Bell.

My regular routine is shooting photos in the first half and then working in the press box in the second.

Boy we had better show out. This is a strong list of recruits. We need most of them if we want to keep positive momentum in securing dominance of the west. Hope we throw the ball well for Bell to see.
Dude, this is precisely why I started the thread the other day calling this the most important Iowa game bince 2010. We have got to win this game.

I'm aware of the importance of the game. Lol my nerves remind me every few hours.

Yup more on the line than just having a leg up on 1st place this year in the division but future years.. That's a heck of a list and Bell would be a great get

Hyper ventilating over that list..…………………..breathe ……...breathe...……..breathe...…..

And the coaching staff is trying to downplay it as "just another game."

I know much of that is coach speak. They aren't fooling anybody. They're certainly not fooling recruits, not with 47 scheduled to attend.

This has such a watershed feel to it. That place is going to be rocking possibly like it never has since 1985 Michigan.

It may be one of those "I was there that night" games that you tell you're kids and grandkids and some day.

It's time to get the upper hand in the west. Wisconsin has had it for too long. They're a great program but not one that's above the occasional 8-5 correction

This is my thought exactly. In a normalized world, I think over the course of a decade, each of Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska should probably win the West an average of 3 times, with each making maybe 2, 3 or 4 appearances in the title game (no one's dominant over a long period). Then, add in one fluke year where one of the other 4 teams wins it. Heck, if things really normalized, we'd see Illinois and Purdue become respectable again and the distribution would basically be 5 teams going twice a decade, but I just don't see that happening. And I toss out Minnesota because they have sucked for so long and have proven to have a lower ceiling than either Purdue and Illinois. Of course, I like Northwestern, but I think their title appearances will be limited to maybe once every 25 years or so unless Nebraska stays terrible and Iowa and Wisconsin totally crap the bed.

We really need to either equalize or get an edge on Wisconsin because Nebraska will at least get back to Pelini levels at some point and that will be plenty to contend for the West every 3 years or so.

Nebraska will never be that dominant. They might be a thorn. They might make a run every great while.
I'm telling you, that style of ball is exactly designed to do just that. Plus it's getting even harder when fewer kids want to qb in a system that is designed in a way that doesn't help them come draft day.
Think of the great qb's, Elway, Farve, Marino, Brees, Manning, Brady. You don't see them being drafted for their running ability.
That style of ball is best suited for high school, when you are an underdog.
Whoop whoop, your qb can run 4.6?? So can a ton of defensive players that like to lay down the law on your arse.
Northwestern and Nebraska have both tried that style and almost every qb from both schools has ended up hurt. So not only does that system hurt a qb's draft stock, it usually hurts them physically.

Nebraska will never be dominant, but at some point, they are going to at least get back to where Pelini had them. Their offense won't stay as this gimmick thing forever. There's no reason Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin shouldn't be relatively equal in the division, with the team drawing the softest crossover games having the edge in many years.

I have to agree with O'K4P on this one. I believe Nebraska will become relevant again. That is why I relish in their sorrow in the now. I'm not sure yet if Frost is the coach who will do it for them or not. His ceiling is Oregon under Chip Kelly. Could he ever get Nebraska to the heights of Oregon from years past? It certainly is much harder to do in the B1G. He also doesn't have Phil Knight getting him insane players at Nebraska.

Simple reasoning still points to Nebraska becoming a player again. If Frost doesn't do it, 3-5 years from now we will be having the same conversation about some new Nebraska coach.
