Good perspective, thanks for digging, Rob. If Kirk stays on this year (pending the findings of the investigation), then there is really one quick and easy way to get the ball rolling again on the recruiting trail: Win a lot of football games. It helps that this team is loaded with star players who are black, as well as guys like Brents and Merriweather who seem to be embracing leadership roles.
Way more important than wins and losses is fixing the culture in Iowa football and on the campus community. So far it seems like the issues are being taken seriously, and hopefully the right steps are put in place to make IC a welcoming and supportive place for black student athletes. I have no idea what sort of role KF and company will be asked to play in that process - no one knows yet as the investigation is ongoing.
But I think football recruiting course corrects a lot faster if the Hawkeyes win 10+ games this fall.
