My gut feeling is that the '12 recruiting class will still be a fine one.
However, I think that the source of some of the strength of the class might end up surprising folks. My impression is that the fact that guys from MD and MI have gone to Iowa and will likely soon be in a position to make a big impact ... I think that will really resonate with a bunch of guys who we're recruiting out of those states.
While our recruiting in some of our other "traditional" stomping grounds might be comparatively down because the squad didn't live up to expection in 2010 (winning games on the field leads to victories in the recruiting game too) ... I think the excitement surrounding guys like Carl Davis, Martin-Manley, Coker, Law, Lomax, and Cooper ... I think that excitement will prove to be a catalyst to our recruiting.
And, what is cool is that if the young men take their football seriously ... it will likely help Iowa more in the recruiting game (particularly with other city kids).
