Recruit: Brian F says his dad isn't going anywhere

After reading through the article, what really concerns me is that a few of the recruits that were quoted, have not spoken with anybody on the coaching staff recently. What the hell is up with that? Texas Tech is trying to poach away Malik Rucker (one of our best remaining recruits) and nobody has been on the phone with him lately!? GREAT recruiting, Kirk!

Look, dude, it's the holidays and Kurt needs to recharge the batteries. The guy can take off as much time as he wants from the last game until at least the middle of January. You have no idea how much stress the guy has and he just needs to unwind. He can't sit there and hold everyone's hand and if other coaches are going after our commits, whatever, we don't need those guys anyway and I don't want them unless they are ALL IN. Do you ever take a vacation? Well, I don't, but if I did, I would be expected to still be available 24/7 via email and cell phone but I'm not making close to $4 million a year, guys making that can demand some time off, so just let the guy get a little break, okay.

But,but, but, Kirk told the Gazette, "the best thing about failing to make a bowl game, is that it gives you a chance to focus on recruiting 24/7!" We should be about full then since we knew since Halloween we were not going to a bowl....Trick or ****ing Treat!

This was my thought too.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE STAFF MIGHT MEET WHILE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS OR ON A LUXURY CRUISE. MORON.

According to the NCAA Dec. 17th - Jan. 3 is a dead period in recruiting.

We've already lost our 2 best recruits to other schools, don't be surprised when Rucker end up at TT.

So now we're going to be up for recruiting violations since it sounds like Brian was recently in contact with a recruit?

I don't know, I just googled NCAA football recruiting dead period and the NCAA website gave me that info. I would post the but I'm on my phone.

I have no idea what period they are in, but the recruit can contact Brian and I think it is perfectly legal. Do we know who contacted who?

Okay, that would make sense then. Whars that recruiting expert, Hurbster, when you need him!?

I am guessing that was the case. Per Rob Howe's article regarding the Ferentz to the NFL rumors where he interviewed many of Brian's recruits many of them said they would contact the coaching staff within the next few days.

I doubt most college programs would want him--let alone the pros

I was listening to 1460 KXNO last night and they had a guy from the KC area who covers the Chiefs, he said that he hasn't heard KF's name from anyone who can make any real decisions.

He said that as far as he was told that Scott Pioli wasn't even in most of the meetings to discuss Romeo Crennel and the future of the head coaching search. He said that he heard that Scott was in Jacksonville trying to position himself for a job on their staff, something like "head of player development" or something like that.
