Recent thoughts on hiring an assistant...

If Iowa were to hire a Keno or Pearl... there is a good chance that at least one or maybe a couple of recruits will follow. In both cases.. this is good for the team (since they need athletes).

If a big name assistant is hired, a signed recruit can not follow.... just my two cents.

If a head coach leaves a recruit still has to be released from his LOI so there is no guarantee that a recruit would follow either.

Also if an assistant does leave a recruit could also still ask to be released from his LOI but not likely to ask or be released, but it can still happen even with an assistant being hired as the head coach.

OK, now you are just getting greedy. A solid head coach and a blue chip player? When is the last time that the Iowa Basketball program has had both?

Greed? I did throw Keno out there... I am more than willing to take an average head coach with a blue chipper.

If I was greedy... Bring on Bill Self!!! I think he needs to return to the midwest... oh wait...
