Real reason ISU wants to drop Iowa...

ISU can't beat any of the south teams and because NE and CO dropped out of the north that means ISU has to play all of the south teams and they have a dismal record aganist the south.

Unless ISU loads up with patsies preseason how will they get any wins except hopefully against a couple of their northern brethern who ALSO cannot beat the south teams.

No wonder they want to drop Iowa. Another preseason loss dooms them to 9th or 10th in the conference every year...perennial doormat, but then what's new....

I thought this was common knowledge as to why they want to drop us.

Whatever reason they find to drop us is fine by me. Any reason...just as long as it happens. I won't have to look at those horrible USC knock-offs anymore. It would be a great day and I could forget that they ever even existed. I am not religious but I will pray for this:)

Drop it. It's good for both teams. Conference games will be tough for both teams.

The outcome 5 of the last 7 years is the real reason they want to drop it.

Has any ISU fan said otherwise? We need wins in a 9 conference game situation. I never heard Iowa fans wanting to drop the series until we won some either. It goes both ways.

If for some reason this game gets dropped, i hope we dont pick up a pansy non conf foe to replace them. To be the best, you gotta beat the best. Dont back down from anyone. Anytime; anywhere!

Was UNI a pansy team last year? "To be the best you got to beat the best!"? I don't see your logic here....

we all know this game is ISU's "super bowl." They could be 1-11 with their only win coming against Iowa, and most would care less as long as they beat Iowa.

It does go both ways, but even with Iowa winning 5 of the last 7, I think most Iowa fans are still in favor of dropping it, especially with Nebraska coming on the schedule next year.

Yes they were. We should not be playing them ever. I would rather play a harder non conf schedule. Play only BCS teams.

Playing a BCS only schedule really isn't good for anyone in college football except maybe the fans, and even then the smart ones know its not. There's a reason no schools play such a schedule and it's largely due to the fact that it would just be too exhausting. Not to mention that fact that even though they get the crap beat out of them, the match ups are important for the smaller schools because of the payouts they get for playing them. If we drop Iowa State I think we replace them with someone of similar caliber, if it is a BCS team that would be a plus, but no college football program will ever play an entirely BCS schedule.

You are right, UNI should have won. They played well. We both have tough conference schedules. Let's part ways. Good luck.

Most would agree that having a few pansy teams as you call it would be good to get the new players feet wet(that's what a lot of teams do)besides our conference just became tougher by adding Nebraska.I'm on the side to drop ISU,take your $90 ticket and use it in the bathrooms.
