Re..Remember when McNutt caught the TD vs Michigan State?

I was fortunate enough to have made my 1st trip to Sparty for that one...I bought tix through MSU so had to sit with MSU fans (pretty decent, weren't rude)...I literally had my face in my hands but managed to look up and saw the catch.

The entire 75K went silent. Sweet silence.

It was amazing! The last 2 years I've organized attending an away game for a group of us 2006 Iowa grads. In 2008 we went to Illinois (tough loss) and in 2009 we went to MSU (amazing). The game was a classic defensive battle and a ton of fun. We bought tickets from MSU so we were stuck sitting with a bunch of MSU fans. Most of them were very nice except for 2 guys sitting on one end of us. The last 4 plays were so gut wrenching. I called out for Tony Moeaki's "Dallas Clark 2002 Purdue" drag pattern on 1st down and would have loved for that to have been successful. The slant pattern was extremely sweet and a great play in a great season. I think calling it "7 gets 6" is an awesome name for it. SDK46 is right that the crowd just went silent. The walk across campus back to the cars was the quietest I've ever heard it after a football game.

That was awesome. I was watching on TV out in Jersey with my family. My son and I high fived and my hand still hurt the next morning. We watched the catch over and over for hours after the game. It was great.

Very exciting at the moment but frankly a boring and mudane play that could be used alot and magically appeared for that TD.
I just kept thinking how many times that play could have helped us over the years.

I was at "The game" on 86th. I immediately sprinted out of the bar and into 86th street like an absolute phsycho. Needless to say, I'd had a few. However, had I stayed in the bar a fraction of a second later, I would have gotten tackled violently. Given the options, I believe I took the safer one.

Channeling Chris Farley today? Remember when he played Matt Foley? Yeah, that was awesome.

My daughter still talks about how she heard me upstairs when McNutt caught the pass.

I was wondering how long it would take the FB board regulars to recognize spank's Farley reference. Over eight hours. Wow.

Good point, Baldies. However, that was probably why it worked. We just don't run it very often.

I frequent The Game often. But that night I was at home, about 7 blocks from The Game. I ran outside and let out a LOUDDD yell. Probably the loudest I have ever yelled in my entire life. My neighbors had to hate me, but I did not care. There were lots of "man hugs" that night w/ my boys who watched it with me! One of the most memorable nights of my Hawkeye life, for sure!

Remember when Chris Farley interviewed Paul McCartney?

That was awesome.
