Can't wait for the game to kickoff live from the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery Alabama at 4:30 Central time. Georgia State is favored by three points, and they are playing a little bit closer to home. They still have an option run based offense that you don't see so often in college football and they will take shots down the field in the passing game. EMU coach Chris Creighton used to coach at Drake, and he has the EMUs in their second bowl game in three years, quite an accomplishment for the former MAC Conference doormat. A quick wikipedia search shows they haven't won a bowl game since the 1987 California Bowl against San Jose State.

Anyway, this is the sendoff game for graduate transfer Wiegers and maybe he puts on a show for the scouts on ESPN this evening.
 
I am rooting for Wiegers too. I wish he would have had a chance to compete for the starting Iowa QB job by splitting time in games in 2017.
 
Early game on ESPN has Mountain West team Utah State just blowing the doors off of North Texas. They had a good season, just taking care of one team after another.

That is quite a good accomplishment because Eastern Mich is the least regarded of the 3 main directional Mich teams, Eastern is usually that good.
 
Wiegers and Glass have been splitting time all season, although Wiegers has been starting.
 
Georgia Southern went three and out on their first drive, then had a dominating eight minute touchdown drive with one big pass completion, and now it looks like they are driving again. The shotgun and pistol formation option offensive is something worth watching.
 
Second half has kicked off, and still no sign of Wiegers. Glass throws a touchdown pass to get EMU within three no.


Something is just off about the ESPN crew and the production tonight. Weird things like production truck audio feed after the commercials end, over exposure/too bright graphics and some other camera issues and then there are some skips on my ps vue feed.
 
Deep into the fourth quarter....
....still no sign of Wiegers.

Its the Mike Glass III show so far today.

Eastern Michigan must have wanted Glass to get the playing time since he's returning next year and Wiegers isn't. Unfortunate for Tyler, but yet another reason why bowl games should be treated as exhibitions.
