Rate Your Best Iowa Bowl Trip

My favorite Bowl game not to attend but watch was the 2nd Orange Bowl. My favorite Iowa team.

In order to rate your best bowl, you must have attended the game (or at least made the trip if you didn't actually walk into the stadium).

My number 1 was the Rose Bowl January 1, 2016, even though we lost. That was a special day.
A close second is the 2010 Orange Bowl....great venue and a terrific victory, but a very cold night!

I've only attended 4 bowls. Please rate your favorite and then, if you so desire, the total number of Iowa bowl games that you have attended.

I also have a question: Does Iowa need to win the bowl game to make it memorable, or a favorite? I don't think a victory is necessary to make it a great trip.....

1. 2016 Rose Bowl - It's the Rose Bowl. Loved how Iowa fans swarmed Pasadena and the LA area.
Tailgate area was nice. Seats were towards the top, but a great view of the field and the mountains, in front of me.

2. 2010 Orange Bowl - Barely saw any Georgia Tech fans. Iowa fans filled up all of the portable toilets in the tailgate area. Captain America was in attendance. Halftime show, but man, couldn't believe how cold it was for Miami.

3. 2008 Outback Bowl - South Carolina fans were not a-holes like Gator fans. Ybor City parade, theme parks in Tampa, Clearwater Beach. Gameday setting is nice.

4. 2004 Capital One Bowl - Gameday was great. Stadium is a dump. Tailgate area is small. Didn't feel the concentration of Iowa fans, because of how Orlando is spread out. Had the first row, corner seat on the Iowa side of the end zone Holloway made the TD catch.

5. 1995 Sun Bowl - First Iowa game I ever attended. Barely sleep the night before, as I was so excited.
Just went to the game and didn't participate in other bowl activities, as I didn't know about them.

6. 1996 Alamo Bowl - My best friend from the Army was in the Texas marching band, and it was going to be Iowa vs Texas, but Texas upset Nebraska, and Texas went to the Fiesta Bowl. My brother and stayed in my best friend's apartment, but it would've been great if he was still around.

Others I've attended:
1997 Sun Bowl - Just felt that there were a lot of Arizona State fans there and many Iowa fans disappointed how that season ended.

2003 Outback Bowl - Loved everything about it, especially beating the Zooker.

2015 Taxslayer Bowl - Felt like the death of the Iowa program. 90% Tennessee fans and Hawkeye Huddle felt like a funeral. Not much to like about the Jacksonville area. It's really Southern Georgia in all ways, except for the state borderline.

Well only been to the 2016 rose bowl...and what a trip! Game sucked and getting in/out/around the stadium was a mess....but once we were in our seats....nothing better in college football. Stadium needs a massive renovation though as far as fan experience goes!

Last years big ten title game was amazing as well....can't wait to go back to Indy! Cadillac ranch..."we'll be back"
