We've got a couple other DE/DT offers out that you'd probably prefer over Raridon as well..
It's a shame to see talent leave the state.. but he didn't jump on board early.. so, regardless of if he would have went to Wisco no matter what, you just gotta keep moving on..

It all comes down to his offer. If it was still there for him and he chose Wiscy, then I am disappointed. If we pulled it, no big deal.

Not surprising at all. Dad went to Nebby, brother went to ND so unless there's anyone close to the family with Iowa connections I didn't lose any sleep over him not coming to IC.

I would love to know why we can't land Valley kids. I know one of their coaches is a clone but the amount of kids from that school that have Iowa offers and go elsewhere is alarming.

Yes I agree there, but if we can't even keep the best kids in the state then that is a problem as it is hard enough to recruit at Iowa.

It's impossible for any school to "keep the best kids in the state". Absolutely any school in the country. I don't care if you're talking about Texas or Alabama. Every school misses out on talented kids in their state. If the kid didn't grow up a fan of the school and he doesn't place a high priority on staying close to home then there's a pretty darn good chance he won't stay in state.
It's not like we're losing recruits to ISU on a consistent basis. Iowa's recruiting is just fine. Many would argue it's better than it ever has been. Only time will tell. My point is... whether or not this kid still had an Iowa offer it is not a big deal that he went elsewhere. Stop being dramatic about it.

I don't know why everyone always gets their panties in a bunch when a kid leaves the state. Not every kid in Iowa dreams of playing for Iowa. Even though they should.

Everyone should be ok with it since only other "big name" going after him was Wiscy right? or is Wiscy big enough I should be up in arms over this? I get confused because most of our commitments don't have offers from O$U, Wiscy, Mich etc so is just one other school good enough to get worked up about? Honest question because I'm trying to decide how mad I should be and if I should get on Wiscy forums and tell them he sucks anyway we really didn't want him. I know the "locking" down boarders arguement but if the coaches think they landed better targets or think there are still others out there does it matter? Finally, if god created people who created god?

Similar situation at Lin-Mar in CR with its B-ball recruits. The Hawks cant seem to land the big recruits.
