Radio report: Mims hires Alfredo Parrish in wake of Gray resignation

Not to start this again, but anyone who read between the lines of U of I President SM comments shouldn't be surprised by this.

For the record I've met Fred, and believe he is a decent guy. He was Peter Gray's direct report, and I hope he is in no way involved in this.

There is an ongoing criminal investigation on this matter, as there should be.

I'm saddened by this entire episode.

Man who don't you know in IC?

Folger is a playa, b!tches, and don't you ever think otherwise. #1 Tavern Hokk and proud of it.

Trying to be serious people. Fred was involved in a charity for at risk youth, as was I. That was the extent of my involvement with him. It's really a sad matter. I'm disturbed by the whole thing.

Charity for at risk youth. Let's see, I think I have heard that before. Can't quite put my finger on it. :0

Has anyone else met Fred or been involved in charity work? Now is the time to brag, err, share that.

When I was still a student at Iowa, me and a couple of my buddies drove past Hayden Fry's house on our way to Res beach and Coach was walking up his driveway toward his mailbox. My one buddy, the cleverest of our group, yelled "HIKE!" out the open car window and we all broke up laffy.
We were incredibly stoned at the time.

U impressed by me and my brush with greatness yet? Do you believe that I know things about Iowa athletics that no one else knows, and that I am in with the in crowd??

Were you driving an early model luxury car when you saw him? If u didn't consider me unimpressed.

That seems like something that would be quite humorous while stoned.

(The car we wuz rolling in was a totally choice '77 Cutlass Supreme. Dark green with blackwalls. Looked just liek an unmarked cop car.)

77 Cutlass???

Isn't that a barge on wheels? Honestly, how many d00ds could you stuff in that thing on your Animal House-esque road trips? 12? Moar?

YEAH BABY
that car was a fkn lemon among lemons, but I loved it. It did not have any radio at all, not even am-only. It was my great aunt's car, which my folks bought from her estate after she died and that's what I drove throughout kolij and for a year after.

Moast awesome. My college ride was Dad's 1975 Buick Electra, also a barge of a vehicle. Once totalled a Datsun's left rear end whilst sustaining only a small scratch on the bumper.

As for brushes with greatness, I can't top the stoned Hayden drive-by but once peed in the urinal next to Mike Royko at a Northwestern game.
