Lots of schools making it known that they expect more from their head football coaches and staffs. Part of me wishes that GarBar would at least make a definitive statement showing that he will hold our coaching staff accountable (like he did with Alford).
How can he do that when Ferentz is under contract until 2020 and his buyout is 20 million? That makes it a little difficult to play hard ball with Ferentz and hold him accountable. What is Barta going to do, fire him?
Auburn will rebound because of their ability to recruit, but what kind of coach will they attract? They run each and every coach they have out of town eventually. Not a lot of loyalty there.
This is why:
Chizik, who just finished his fourth season on the Plains, won't walk away empty-handed. Auburn contractually is obligated to pay the coach $208,333 per month through the end of 2015
Chizik is being taken care of to the tune of 8 million dollars.
