At first I thought they were talking about a different game. Hey Jonathan, perhaps Iowa stopped playing when they heard the whistle and saw the flag for a false start. Maybe that is why you ran by the safety. I am pretty sure if they would have rewound the play, you would have ended up with a 2 yard loss.

From FoxSports:

Iowa's defense sinks Georgia Tech in Orange Bowl - CFB News - FOX Sports on MSN

Jonathan Dwyer couldn’t shake the memory of his first Orange Bowl touch.

Making a nifty cutback to dash through Iowa’s first line of defense, Dwyer found a wide swath of vacant acreage in front of him.

“Their safety ran by me,â€￾ Georgia Tech’s top rusher recalled. “There’s no way someone was going to catch me.â€￾
A chorus of officials’ whistles, though, brought an abrupt halt to Dwyer’s idyllic scenario. Penalty flag. Teammate Joseph Gilbert had jumped the snap count.

“That could have been the tempo setter,â€￾ Dwyer lamented. “I wish we could rewind that play. There’s no telling what the outcome might have been.â€￾

Best couple sentences of the article actually come right after what you posted...

"...The reality was brutal. The triple option that carried the Yellow Jackets to the ACC title hardly got out of first gear, throttled by an active, disciplined Iowa defense in 24-14 setback on a cold Tuesday night..

Not only was it the least productive outing in coach Paul Johnson’s two seasons at Tech, it sent both school and bowl researchers combing back more than two decades to find comparable futility."

Nice! :)

What a DB.
Even their coach basically said they lost it for themselves inferring it had little to do with us.

He can't be serious. Really?
That's hilarious if he really thinks that.

I think the whole right side on that play jumped, and it was pretty obvious that the defense stopped. Sad that that is all they have to hang on to.

And I did lose some respect for Paul Johnson after listening to his press conf. He really did sound like they beat themselves and it had nothing to do with the Iowa guys in their face all night.

Who cares what they think, everybody saw that they couldn't do anything against our D. You can play the woulda, coulda, shoulda, game both ways. What happens if A Rob doesn't slip, McNutt doesn't fumble, what happens if Sandeman makes that 3rd down catch, what happens if Stanzi doesn't throw the pick six?

Iowa left a ton of points on the board and GT should be happy that they were still in the game after the end of the first half.
