Questions about West Lafayette

My wife and I and some friends are going to make the trip this year since tickets are starting at $6 apiece on StubHub. I have a few questions for those that have been there since I've heard West Lafayette isn't exactly the best city in the Big Ten. We are driving out and looking to stay Friday to Sunday.

1. Where's a good place to stay?
2. Is there parking near the stadium?
3. Where to tailgate?
4. Places to go for nightlife? Like sports bars perhaps?

Thanks.

My wife went to school there and I have been there once for a game so here goes

Cant tell you about where to stay, just find a hotel somewhere
Big open grass lots around the stadium area, plenty of room to park.
Everyone tailgates in these areas. Pretty friendly crowd and good people.
Nightlife is something to be desired in WL. They have a couple bars downtown...I remember getting kicked out of their Brothers.

Honestly....stay in Chicago burbs (Orland Park area) and drive down for the game. Quick trip for the game and WAY more things to do for kids in the big city. Yes I'm biased...

Decent tailgate. For tickets, just drive through Mcdonalds. There's probably a promotion of 2 free tickets with the order of a happy meal or something like that.

Orland Park? Are you serious? I love Chicago, but you should only stay there for the NW game. You have to stay nearby the stadium and do things near it on a trip for a road game.

West Lafayette was pretty dull looking on my one trip there but how can you go wrong with $6 tickets.

If I remember a few years ago they have controlled purchase of beer in certain types of businesses.
