Gronowski's performance was mixed. He was actually pretty good in the short passing game, hitting his targets on time and in stride to get excellent yards after catch. The medium passing game was tentative, with throws being both a little late and often behind receivers.

It looked like Iowa game planned for the short passing game. The offensive line was dominant. Moulton was good in both the running and receiving game. RS Freshman Vonnahme seems to be coming along at TE. It was good to see Vander Zee in there getting good work as Iowa's only tall wide-out.

Gronowski's short passing game was there this game. The intermediate passing game was serviceable but tentative. The long passing game really hasn't connected so far this year. Contrast this with Gronowski's performance in the Rutgers game where he was effective in intermediate to long intermediate passing, but throwing bricks in the short game.

Hopefully, with Vander Zee back and Vonnahme coming along, we will see a bit of red-zone passing to complement the running game.

I disagree. This is another case of coaches being overly sensitive. Its helpful to the whole team and fans to just be open and honest. All coaches are doing is distracting themselves and the team with all this nonsense.

You expect KF to tell Fickell which one of his QBs is playing when he can make them have to game plan for two different guys just because a bunch of us bumpkins on our couches would like to know?

How is it even remotely a distraction for the coaches or team? Honest question.

How bout you just tell your guys, "We aren't saying anything at QB this week guys, the situation we're in right now we can make 'em guess so that's what we're doing." Literally no player or coach on your team wouldn't understand that. You think if KF asked Kamari Moulton or RVZ whether he should tell Luke Fickell which QB was playing they'd say yes? Jesus.

Should've told them Gronowski and Brown were riding a tandem bicycle down Melrose and got wiped out on a curb, and Hecklinski is the next man in.
