Putting 2009 behind......

Lots of comparisons over the course of the past few weeks with the 2009 squad. Very nice season for sure, great bowl win.
BUT, that season was marred by a defeat to middling NW team, who had no biz being on the same field that fateful Nov afternoon.

Here we are in 2015, 9-0 again, and the SAME setup as 2009. Home game vs a mediocre opponent in MN.
Can we close the door on 2009 and open up a new one for future teams to shoot for? That is all I am looking for!

Would have easily beaten NU in '09 had they not taken out Stanzi. We were crushing their souls before the infamous naked bootleg. Barring a similar injury to CJB, Hawks will roll over the Goofers.

Great job OP....you beat me to it! I was going to wax melancholy about sitting in section 138 and watching Iowa jump out to a 10-0 lead, then seeing Wootton steamroll Ricky right in front of my eyes.

Defeat!
Tragedy!
No more perfection!
Gnashing of teeth!
Ugh!

To that I simply say.....

in my mind, we already have. In 2009, our qb didn't get hurt until game 10. This season, he's already hurt. Done deal. We're beyond 2009. We owe Minny and we should have 100% of our starters healthy and available for the first time all season, on offense, with the exception of CJ. We will score a lot of points the rest of this season, starting with Minny.

I feel that our running game, along with the offensive is better this go around than 2009, in case we had to heavily rely on this.

Probably don't need to worry much. . . .
