He will be dc for urban at OSU. Good start to the staff.

Stoops turned down HC job at Florida Atlantic to go with Urban FWIW.
 
Great, another coach who will put a star by any game with Iowa and lay the wood to Iowa and their generic game plans on offense. Do we have any games that we get all jacked up for? sigh.

funny that I look at ESPN and yahoo sports and neither one of them say anything about this. where does this info come from? are you a closet hawk in Columbus?

Of course it's not. It's not official Pope Urbam is even the hfc yet. Just wait. The chatter is strong on this, and not message board chatter.
 
Footballsoop.com has been around for a long time and is usually spot on on rumors. They get a lot of inside info from people at the schools.

The Hawks were always going to lose to Urban Meyer at OSU anyway, so at least Stoops isn't laying the wood with another team.

I think they started out in 98 or 99 as kcoach.com

Used to be video guys for a fbs team running the site.

Not that it all still can't all fall through but if these guys are saying it there is real credibility. Their sources are legit.

Former players were called by Meyer asking for their "approval" on his choices for assistants. There has been $ amounts/years released about the contract. He was taken off the Mich/OSU announcing assignment by ESPN during the week. The school probably told him to keep it under wraps, and ESPN probably wants the first official story that he's hired because they currently employ him.

Sportswriters from CBS and Yahoo! are always ragging on how ESPN is so late with their information. During the NBA draft sportswriters had trade information about ten minutes before ESPN did, and when ESPN finally found out about trades they were completely clueless to the details.

They aren't clueless about everything, but some things they're completely late to the party.
 
another hawkeye fail if true. norm was the enthusiastic spark we had on the field at one time. unfortunately we miss that enthusiasm. norm has been a key asset to any success we have had in the past. unfortunately this has not recently been the case. Stoops would of been a great start to our much needed changes.
 
Guess we just have to hope the NCAA decides to lay the wood to the cheaters. With OSU pushing forward with bowl plans, and barely containing their glee about their caoching "upgrade," unless the NCAA USC's their a ss, OSU will have gotten off with virtually no serious punishment at all.
