PTL Highlights & Evaluation: Christian Williams

Why? You can't just drop this turd without an explanation. Whether if CW is 6'6 or 6'4 his wingspan is bigger than Gessell or Clemmons. That alone makes him just as strong a on-the-ball defender as Clemmons or Gessell. So what are we talking about? Lateral quickness? Experience?

Gesell and Clemmons were really good on the ball defenders. Just because CW is longer doesn't mean he will be as good as they were

I thought about it after I hit the the submit button. You are correct Gessell/Clemmons were pretty good on the ball defenders, especially Clemmons.

I am projecting that CW will be just as good if not better because of his wingspan. There is no guarantee he will be your counter-argument is fair.

If Barkley is 6 ft 4, it probably gives Ahmad Wagner a lot of hope. He is listed at just shy of 6 ft 7.

Uhl has a longer wingspan than Gesell or Clemmons and he's a worse on the ball defender

Different ballgame. I consider Uhl a 3, he isn't guarding people on isolation or out in space nearly as much. It is not the NBA. CW wingspan allows him to play off guys and clog up passing lanes. Can CW move his feet the way Gessell/Clemmons could? I do not know. Is the lateral quickness there to stop people from taking you off the bounce? Once again I do not know. CW's size allows him to get up in peoples' grill and defend 1(s) and 2(s). In general, it is harder to get your shot off against a 6'6 guy than a 6'2 guy. All I am saying is the potential to be a better defender is there. I am not saying it will actually come to fruition. Hope it does.

Hopefully he can guard the good PG's in the conference
