And if memory serves he lost his starting job because he couldn't throw it in the ocean and wouldn't shoot even if wide open the last half of the season. I like May, think he is a tremendous athlete, but he is not a pure shooter and is far more valuable (IMO) using his strength and hops inside. Much better served having Oglesby, White, McCabe, Gatens take those shots and have him crashing the boards.

I mentioned this last season but perhaps worthy of another comment. Eric May had some of his best shooting performances while Gatens was out with his injury and Eric was touching the ball mainly from the left wing where he could either spot up for the trey or drive to the elbow for a short jumper. Once Matt returned to the lineup, Eric's shot selection included several more looks from the baseline which often did not go in and seemed to impact his confidence. Offensively, I think the Hawks are better off with Matt roaming the baseline and playing Eric up top alongside Cartwright/Marble as Eric also had some issues with stepping out of bounds if memory serves correctly.
