While Gesell had a decent game, you could tell that Clemmons was really working him. I came away pretty impressed with Clemmons. Still needs to work on that jumpshot, but he's got everything else pretty much down.

I'm amazed at the intensity that this game had. The whole tournament for that matter impressed me this year.It actually resembles a basketball tournament instead of a carnival attraction for a change.

If Clemmons can develop a jump shot. There is no way Gesell starts over him. NONE. That said, Clemmons has a jump shot like I have a trophy wife. He has some work.... Tho he has the rest of his game down very well.

Fran will have a very good team. Be excite Hawkeye fans! Very excited....
 
What a great game. We are deeper than I originally thought. Gesell cole basabe is a good team. For clemmons white and may to take it to them bodes well for us

Don't blame White for being a bit upset. Aaron is very feisty. Remember the Penn State game at Iowa. He went to the basket for a slam and the Penn State guard slammed hin in the face after the ball was in the basket. Aaron landed, stepped back and roared at him. It was a reasonable reaction in my opinion.....

Thanks for the input guys. I haven't felt this excited about an incoming class since the year Luke Recker transferred from Indiana to Iowa. I know that particular class was rated a top five class by some and many were disappointed that they never really performed all that well. The difference I think will be in the coaches as Fran seems to have the ability to take each player and help them be better. Steve seemed to fall a little short in that aspect. Did Worley ever do anything else in basketball after he finished up at Iowa?

Clemmons had defensive help on Gesell. Gesell didn't so much on Clemmons.
 
Both of the PG looked very good this summer and being so young, it should mean that they will get even better as they mature. Should solve our PG position for the next few years. Nice problem to have.

Yes indeed. I can see Clemmons coming in when the opposing point guard starts to get hot, like the Penn State guard did in IC. I imagine he could make things difficult for Trey Burke also.....

The guy is Velcro, and Mike G is no slouch on D and has that deadly jump shot from anywhere on the court.....

Anthony Clemmons is an Aaron White style steal.....

If May and Mel are indeed back and healthy, plus the rest of the team remains injury free, we are headed for the tournament. Out on a limb once again, but it is increasely possible in my mind.....

Just my personal opinion and no intent to imflame anyone with a biased homer comment.....

I'll second that homer comment Jack. No injuries = tournament. Fingers crossed. Our depth really helps to minimize the injury bug too.
