PSU/Indiana

The great thing is Iowa players/coaches has been able to sit back and watch this.

From what I'm seeing tonight, I'm less worried than I was of the Maryland game. I think Penn St is going to have trouble, for the most part, moving on our defense. I would expect we will get a number of short fields and probably some turnovers out of them. Their defense might give us some fits, but I think Iowa looks like clearly the better team. Our punter will not make it easy on them either when we do go 3 and out.

Clifford isn’t better than Petras. I said it optimistically earlier in the season, and I am convinced of it now. Iowa should be touchdown favorites.

Agreed. Clifford will likely have a rough go of it and will be the next QB to ride the pine. I bet the Iowa crowd will really get into his head. In fact, baby Tua scared me more than Clifford.

Yes, yes they do.

I'm a little bit surprised. I felt they were possibly a bit overhyped going into the year - the whole "traditionally bad program had a good season" hype train was in effect - but I expected them to be respectably competitive. They've looked like the Indiana of old this season.

NW and Wisconsin seem to stink this year, too. NW is probably even worse than Indiana.

Clifford has a receiver, guys.

What he doesn't have is a run game. Neither did Maryland. As long as Iow takes care of the football and Tory Taylor has a good day, Iowa should win this game.

BTW that Florida team that nearly slayed the giant? Lost to Kentucky yesterday.

I didn’t watch a whole lot of the PSU game but I did see a few plays where Clifford pulled it down when nothing was open and was able to get good gains with his feet. I hope we are able to shut that down. I’m not sure if anything frustrates me more than when it seems we have a play stopped only to have the qb scramble for a first down.
