Psst: Iowa football starts practice this week

Yes it is and the guys got through the summer without to many incidents.Congratulations to all of the players and lets hope we get through without any injuries.

It's so close I can smell the sausage and beer and feel the crisp morning Iowa City air...or maybe I'm just sitting to close to the AC vent...

In some ways, this is the scariest time of the year to be a fan. You almost become paranoid that you're going to log on to see a "Player X Injured In Practice" thread. Or maybe it's just me. :)

The anticipation, expectations and optimism for this season is making it really hard to wait for the first game to get started.

What rock do you live under?

What? All things considered there really weren't too many incidents. Two guys getting involved in what was effectively a nothing-incident. Binns OWI was certainly a bigger deal due to severity of offense. However, all in all, there weren't that many incidents.

Are you trying to make mountains out of mole-hills?

No, I'm not. I don't give a **** about public intox, but a DUI is nothing to laugh at.

I'm not laughing at it. However, an OWI also should be considered in context too. Not all OWIs are alike. Regardless, all OWIs demonstrate very poor judgement ... and that's not something that you want to see in a guy who ought to be a team leader.

I think you took Grandpa's comment the wrong way. He was commenting on the low number of incidents from this summer. There were only two that I can think of and that's not many compared to years past. At no point in his post does he mention the severity of either incident. I don't think there is a single person on this board that considers a DUI "something to laugh at".

Thank you.Anyone that has over 3000 messages on here needs to find a real job or is this it?

No problem Shada, not everyone on here second guesses or condemns the kids for making a mistake that some of us did but didn't get caught.I'm not talking about some of the more serious crimes in the past but the drinking will happen here and every where else.I don't condone driving while drinking but just look in the paper every day and look at the ages of the people arrested(20-50)and some older, apparently they haven't learned, since some of them have been arrested for the 3rd time.Enough said on this topic and let's move on to talking about a successful season.Go Hawks
