Proud of this team and its fans.

We all wanted to go to the NCAA tournament. Every player up and down the roster, every coach, every administrator, every one of those fans who attended even one game this year or who watched on TV all this year and all throughout the Lickliter years and through the ups and downs of Fran's resurgance wanted to go to the NCAA tournament.

The pain last Friday was sickening and it hurt deep. The slap to the face on Sunday stung just as bad as we saw one of the first teams out get hosed with a 3 seed. It seemed like everyone on the outside was against us and our team. We had to watch as half the NCAA tournament field was filled with teams we would have crushed, and then we had to take a middle seed in the NIT.

We saw Kentucky and Tennessee players and coaches stop caring. It wasn't about the game, the team, the fans. It was about themselves. It was about their arrogance and self-righteousness. We would have killed to be in Kentucky's position as the 1 seed in the NIT.

So what did we do? We sold 15,000 tickets in three days to watch a middle seeded NIT team who we know deserved better and we did our best to give it to them. Our guys were tested by a gritty Sycamores team but our fans, coaches and players never gave up. It isn't just the NIT, its a ******* competition and we have the desire and passion to sell out again tonight and win again despite being tested. We hustled, fought, through the ups and downs because this team has PRIDE. And I am so overjoyed with them and our fans for realizing this isn't about the NIT, it's about winning games, and competing and not taking anything for granted.

And for that I am so proud of them.

Holy **** on my phone that is really long. I had to scroll down to even see the whole post, and I didn't even read a ******* word of it

It's funny how Clone fans will LOL the hell out of this while pi$$ing all over themselves to celebrate their football team that finishes under .500 and goes to CIT level bowl games...

I guess it's all about who you root for and who you hate...

I'd rather be an Iowa fan than a Wisky fan right now. People at work were pretty cranky here in Madison yesterday! :)

I'm proud of the team. They look like they are on a mission. I'm totally getting into watching NIT games, and am loving every minute of it. I've never done that before. I'm excited about the next game, and the upcoming years.

I'm soooo... wait for it.... (thinks to self..umm how to say that one word..thing ..-slobbers-..wow it stinks in here like clown funk...oh yea..) ..PWOUD of u guys.

Honestly big props to the fans. Selling out on short notice and supporting the squad is great for the program.

Great effort all around for the last two NIT games. I was there last night and the place certainly was rocking. Great atmosphere and solid showing by the Hawks.

Ignore the arses,Fran.

Totally agree that it is those who swallow hard in the face of setbacks, and make lemonade of lemons are the ones who will be successful in the long haul. That is Iowa bb right now.

Fran, the team, and the fanbase have maximized this situation for the program. Think of the marketing value of these last two sell-outs,with many fans who never attend a game during the regular season. Imagine the enthusiasm this builds for next year. Last years Dayton game was invaluable in continuing momentum into this season, and now we have doubled that benefit. It would be one thing if we were a senior dominated team...but we are a young team that this crowd knows will all be back, sans Eric. So,watch for another attendance bump next year, just like this year,as these fans remember the fun experience they had at the NIT games.

One step at a time, this program is making progress, and maintaining momentum, which is the key to a long successful run for Fran.
