Sabonis never signed a contract (i.e. he didn't get paid a salary, just room and board). He essentially played for "free" in order to maintain his NCAA eligibility.

gonzaga is a really, really good team that played exceptionally well last night. can't fault iowa for that.

Did you watch the Louisville vs. UNI game last night? The announcer was saying how Pitino said this was a tough team to coach. They don't really like each other or get along all that well. He mentioned 6 freshmen and 2 international players and the upperclassmen...not much in common, etc. He went on to say that the freshmen are all scared of Harrell. He's intense all the time and practices the way he plays.

Rolling to the basket is not hard. Just takes brains.

Their bigs looked great because of how aggressively Iowas bigs were flying out to try to hedge.

Few had us scouted to a T. But his strategy is not nearly as effective without guys who can hit 3s.
