Iowa 15-3
Maryland 14-4
Purdue 13-5
Michigan State 13-5
Michigan 13-5
Indiana 12-6

The Rest

We probably get 6 NCAA bids this year.

I think you've got Indiana too low, frankly. They play the other top teams (Iowa, MD, Michigan, MSU and Purdue) 6 times, and I don't see them losing all of those games (or winning a couple and then dropping a pair against the garbage that is the rest of their schedule). I don't buy them as a bonafide contender, but I don't think they're a total fraud, either.

Indiana plays 6 games Vs 5 teams, the top 5 team and only 3 of them on the road. That is getting a great schedule for them. We play the top 5 teams 9 times with 5 of those being road games.

That said the schedule is what it is and we really need to go 2-0 vs Indiana.

I'm not necessarily complaining about their schedule, just that I have a hard time seeing them lose 6 games. 4 or 5, sure. But 6 would require them to lose every remotely meaningful game from here on out.

They could get 6 losses by losing 4 out of those 6 and dropping two games that you count as for sure wins. Lots can happens yet.

If we can somehow get to 8-0 we would have to lose to some pretty bad teams to not win the conference.

If we get to 8-0 then 18-0 is more likely than not winning the conference IMO...assuming no injuries. An 8-0 Iowa team would face Northwestern and Penn State at home before playing at Illinois. At 8-0 it's hard for me to picture a healthy Iowa team not getting to 11-0...as we make our way to Indiana for a nationally televised game.

One game at a time....

I'm withholding judgment until after Maryland. That's our judgment day.

Here's a fun site I remember following last year during Iowa's run to the tourney. I always find it interesting since it also predicts exact scores. It projects Iowa to go 16-2 in the Big Ten. Losses @Maryland (by 16 points) and @Indiana (by 2 points).

http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_187_Men.html

Side notes from this site if you're too lazy:
- It projects Indiana to lose 5 Big Ten games
- It projects Maryland to go 16-2 as well with their only other loss coming this weekend in a 1 point loss to Michigan State. I'm not sure how the Big Ten decides who wins the conference, but that would mean Iowa and Maryland would have the same conference record, but with maryland winning the head to head matchup
- It projects Iowa to beat Purdue by 14 this weekend
- It has NW going 7-11 in the Big ten which is 19-12 overall. They would not make the tourney with that resume
- Wisconsin goes 8-11 in the big ten, 16-15 overall (lol)
- Rutgers and Minnesota both win 3 conference games(!!!!?)

Check it out if you're bored at work like I am :)

If it plays out like this Iowa and Maryland are recognized as Co-Champions. By winning the head to head Maryland is the #1 seed in the BTT and Iowa would be the #2 seed.

Like I said I don't see Maryland losing 3 more times for 4 conference losses. That almost makes it a must win for Iowa at Maryland if they want any hope of winning the conference outright with a 15-3 record. If Iowa losses to Maryland, no way 15-3 wins it outright. Crazy to think that 8 games into an 18 game schedule is turning out to be a de facto championship game.

That's extremely generous to say both Minnesota and Rutgers win 3 conference games (hahahah I know that's pathetic) but I honestly think Rutgers goes winless. Minnesota maybe wins 1 or 2 with wins coming against no one else but Rutgers, of course. Those teams are bad.
