When is Iowas pro day? NFL Network has made a spectacle of Murrays at OK and Haskins at OSUs just yesterday. Curious if with us having 2 TEs most likely going in the first round and all if they'll be coming to make a big deal of theirs and when that'll be

I wouldn't be surprised if Fant and Hock don't participate. They killed the combine and got tons of positive attention.

I don't think taking the chance of slower/lower numbers is worth it because they can't get much more hyped than they already are.

Iowa appears to have their Pro Day scheduled for Monday (March 25). Time to be determined ... ?

Agreed. I'm seeing them both projected as first round picks in virtually every mock draft. Not that those ultimately really mean anything, but they have nothing left to prove.

Yeah that wouldn't be a surprise. Bosa didn't either for same reason pretty much. Haven't heard on if either will or won't anyway. We'll know early next week for sure

Hockenson, maybe but probably not. Fant--that's a no for sure. Isn't he sort of persona non grata around the Iowa facilities right now? Not DJK bad, but he didn't leave seeing eye-to-eye with the Ferentz master blaster duo.

I hope your wrong about that. I can't say if you are or not but I haven't heard of anything that'd insinuate what your saying is true. I thought everything was cool with him and the staff & and everyone. But....

I could see Hockenson running the 40; he could stand to improve the time a bit, and Matt Bowen wrote a year or two ago about how much easier it is to run in your own facility vs. Indy (I would expect a 0.1 improvement). I could see Fant doing position drills, it sounds like he had a few drops at the combine.

I can see the facility being an issue. I ran a 4.34 (hand timed) my senior year of high school in gym class, but when I ran a workout for a couple college teams at their facilities my time was well into the 5s.

That's all message board BS. Fant said a while ago he'll be at Iowa's Pro Day.

There may be some tension over his use this season, but to compare it to DJK, who clashed with KF and staff his whole career and was arrested for drug distribution is just trying to stir the pot.

I didn't compare it to DJK. It's just a result of Ferentz being stubborn and selfish.

Got the DJK part confused with something else, but how is KF being selfish about Fant? Fant still has access to the facilities and is participating in the pro day.

The "tension" between the two is way overblown.

Kirk was petty and selfish to keep Fant off the field. That's what I'm referring to.

Many others seem to agree, such as Morehouse and Dochterman. So why was Kirk right to keep Fant off the field?
I don't think he was right to, but calling it petty and selfish makes it sound like he was being malicious. I don't believe we're as far apart as we first thought.

Kirk is a stubborn, but principled man. Sometimes he'll follow a gameplan to a fault, but I doubt he was holding Noah back because of his family's comments or anything behind the scenes.

Even at his worst, DJK was still our top target in the passing game and our number 1 KR. I'm just saying it's plain untrue that KF held him back due to any ulterior, petty motive. I also think Noah's purported concussion this year may have at least something to do with it, but I don't have anything to back that up.

This argument doesn't add up--many others have already sniffed it out. Kirk said Fant didn't play (i.e. only six snaps in second half of Penn State game) because he didn't fit the scheme. When you have a player as dynamic as Fant, you adjust the scheme and get him in there--at TE, Wideout, H-back, wherever. To not have him on the field was a crime and it wasn't because "he didn't fit the scheme"--that's thinly veiled Kirk-talk.

I don't think it was just Fant's brother who said things...I'm sure Fant expressed his discontent too--this is probably what got him cuffed.

You're right about the mock drafts not really meaning anything. In 2005 Matt Roth was a first round pick on all the mock draft boards. He slid to the middle of the second round and then was selected only because Nick Saban had just taken the Miami Dolphins job and remembered Roth from the LSU Capital One bowl game (which Roth didn't play very well in to begin with).

Who knows how much further Roth would had slid if not for Saban? I think some NFL people saw Matt as a classic 'tweener.
