Preview: Some Hawkeyes Have History with UNI’s A.J. Green

Looking at the rosters, we should have an advantage inside. Hopefully we get can get Luka and Tyler some post touches and dominate the boards.

A.J.'s dad is the associate head coach for UNI (promoted last year). He's been with the program for I think 3 different stints having served as an assistant under McDermott before leaving to be an assistant at Marquette for a year and HC at some smaller division schools for a couple of years after that. I believe he came back when Jacobson got the gig in 2006 and briefly left for another HC job for a year in 2011 before returning again back in 2012.

If he stays healthy, A.J. will probably end up UNI's all time leading scorer with a chance to shatter their record. He was averaging 15.8 ppg before the Iowa game (brought him down to 14.4). It's probably safe to say he'll increase his scoring as he gets older but for arguments sake and to be somewhat conservative, let's say he averages 16 ppg for his career. He'd end up as #1.

16 points x 32 games per season x 4 seasons = 2,048 points. UNI's all time leading scorer Jason Reese had 2,033 points.
