Preview, Prediction: The Cowboys Come to Kinnick Thinking Upset

65-0 Go Hawks.

Last year Wyoming gave up an average of 34 points per game. Sure that includes 2 triple overtime games, but the point still stands that they gave up a lot of points. Nebraska hung 52 points on them thanks to 6 turnovers and 550 total yards.

I would not be surprised to see garbage touchdowns late by Wyoming to inflate their star QB's numbers and try to get the offense some confidence. However, I don't see how Wyoming stops Iowa's rushing attack.

Iowa wins 45-21. TD's by Fant, Wadley (2), Butler, Brandon Smith.

Whats your deal? Why the hell are you so down on the hawkeyes all the time. Already bashing the defense.
I know, I know. I just don't think the 3rd string D can hold them out of the 40. It's more about giving Wyoming's kicker his props really.

This will look a lot like the 2015 Illinois St. game. Iowa's domination upfront will make it so that the opponent's backfield can't do anything no matter who is back there.

My game preview and predictions for Saturday's game:

Since a percentage of the basis for this prediction and/or rationale utilizes the NDSU offensive model and also believing that the WYO offense will not change much under their new OC, IA's intel X-factor is NDSU's very recently former offensive coordinator is now a Hawkeye coach.

Just a thought, as we will see if this assessment has any merit, regardless it is certainly worth a mention. Please disregard if I missed this while reading the prediction.

Let's cost this guy a Heisman
I don't think he was going to get that anyway but I also say let's cost him from being a top draft pick... Allen said something about the 49ers being his fav pro team... Well I kinda like the idea of CJ being their QB for awhile so let's hope this kid isn't all that he's advertised as so he goes to someone else

Yes, Wyoming gave up 34 points/game last year....to teams with aggressive, attacking offenses that weren't afraid to pass. I'm getting a bad feeling that Kirk is going to try and play keep away on Saturday which will keep the game close. Bring on the star QB to be the hero at the end.

How long are you going to protect Stanley? Want him to go into Ames with no more confidence than he has now? BF said he was going to make defenses defend the entire field. I hope he meant it.

Play to win, Kirk. Please.

New DC not OC.

According to IA's bio of Polasek, it was my presumption that they had to have a different OC. I did see the new DC sited in the prediction.
From the official IA website, Hawkeyesports, "Tim Polasek was named offensive line coach at the University of Iowa in February, 2016. Polasek joined the Hawkeye coaching staff after serving as offensive coordinator and running backs coach at North Dakota State for the past three seasons".

Also from the prediction piece, which I based my comment on,
"Expect to see a lot of similarities between the schemes run by Wyoming and what NDSU did last year. It’s a pro-style, West Coast offense that utilizes multiple looks and tempos".

Well, this bantering is certainly not worth all this typing. M.aybe I just read too much into what is nothing more than someone's speculation I just hope the Hawks whoop'm.

Watch the Nebraska-Wyoming game. Wyoming isn't a giant killer. Nebraska was the same mistake prone Cornhuskers Iowa beat in November.
