Definitely have to get the ball out Tom Brady fast for this game. No standing in pocket for 4 or 5 seconds.
 
We might see something different for our first drive, then it will be right back to the usual.

Iowa's offensive line has allowed three fewer sacks than Ohio State's, 11 to 14. We have had fewer penalties. Slightly better on scoring defense ranking. OSU has .485 third down conversion rate but Hawks have allowed other teams only .305. Of course, they are second in the nation in points scored so there's that......:)

By the way, Iowa State is highly ranked in a lot of categories.

Interesting choice for Iowa's alum. I believe he was married at the St Thomas More Chapel (IIRC what my grandmother said). Gen. Cartwright's mother and my mother were first cousins. Been about 10 or 15 years since I saw his parents (and probably 50 years since I last saw him). They had retired to Florida and visited with my parents a couple times.

As far os OSU's line giving up sacks, that doesn't really matter because we generate no pass rush at all. Barrett had all day to throw against PSU, and I look for him to have the same tomorrow. As far as rankings, they don't really mean a lot. We are ranked near the bottom in a lot of offensive categories and a lot of people still think we have a good offense that is just waiting to break out.

Minnesota had allowed the fewest sacks (something like 4) I believe I read and Iowa had 4 against them. I think our perception is sometimes worse than reality.

Remember, Iowa cannot get good enough offensive skill players to rank highly on offense.
 
Iowa has almost no shot in this game. But here are some things I am going to watch for:
Iowa holding Ohio State well below their scoring average.
Iowa's offensive line against one of the best defensive lines in college football. Iowa's receivers.

I would love to say that Iowa will shock the world of college football and beat the Buckeyes, but the only way they can do that is to be completely unpredictable...throw the game plans thus far into the trash can, and go against every tendency that Iowa is famous ( or infamous ) for. I do believe that the Hawks have the talent and the ability to get the win....they just need to have a plan that takes advantage of those talents and abilities. Haven't seen much of that so far, but tomorrow would be a Hell of a time to bring it out.
