The key is how Iowa starts. The last 5 bowls, the quarter-by-quarter score is:
1st quarter: Opponents 59-3
2nd quarter: Opponents 49-7
3rd quarter: Opponents 24-10
4th quarter: Iowa 55-40
By halves:
1st half: Opponents have won 108-10
2nd half: Iowa has won 65-64
Iowa has won the 2nd half of 3 of them, lost to OU 17-14 in the 2nd half, and the game last year was the only one where Iowa was clearly outplayed in the 2nd half.
Don't come out to try to "establish" stuff, while other teams come out and exploit the holes they've found in Iowa's defense. You see teams do this in bowl games. They month of game prep is going to give teams those plays that are definitely going to work. Similar to our game with Ga Tech with DJK's crossing route to the zone on the opposite side of the field that had been cleared out by the routes of the other WR. It got us a lead that we were able to hold onto. This is what other teams have done to us and I hope we come out and do this as well.
