Preview, Prediction: Iowa Opens B1G Play with Tall Task at Purdue

This will be a tough one. But it will show us a lot. I'm guessing we keep the same lineup of the last couple games. Then Cook & Baer jump in for the fun.

This will be a very telling game, IMHO. I hope it shows us a good picture of the season!

Go Hawks!

I don't think we'll learn much at all. It's already been shown that big power teams will destroy Iowa inside, on both ends of the floor. Three keys for Iowa to even have a chance against a team like Purdue:
1) Jok + JorBo + Moss shoot >45% from 3 and take a bunch of them.
2) The bench - the tweener guys like Baer and Ellingson and Williams - really have to contribute when on the floor. (Uhl has to stay OFF the floor; he's just not cut out for this matchup.)
3) Run, run, run and attack, attack, attack to try to wear out / foul out those 2 monsters.

The games I think will tell a lot will be against MSU, Michigan, Maryland - those teams that are perimeter oriented, very fast paced (especially MSU) and with role-players in the paint. They'll reveal whether Williams or JorBo or Moss are the future or average joes and Fran needs to keep looking.

I agree. This won't tell us this much. And frankly, I don't think we have this much to learn. Team is VERY young.
