Preston Ries

But can he play football? Some guys are weight room warriors but can't translate it to the football field. We haven't seen him do anything yet. We may not see him this yr besides special teams. Remember Amani Jones. Dude was built like a brick shithouse but once he was on the field couldn't seem to know what to do and was only good for playing special teams. Hopefully that won't be the case for Ries

I've been high on him for awhile, and felt that he was one of those "under the radar" guys that Iowa seems to have a knack for finding.

My gut thinks that he will transfer his skills well. He reminds me quite a bit of a young Chad Greenway.

Kirk always (sometimes to a fault) gives the veterans every opportunity to secure a starting spot early on, but I wouldn't be shocked if Ries sees the field at LB this season.

Wouldn't want to meet him coming on a blitz............... OUCH!!!!!!

This could be a L Station Identification.

This kid is the real deal. I have been watching him since YSF and he has always dominated, much like I remember James Morris dominating for Solon years ago.
In the three kickoffs I focused on him yesterday, he made the tackle, was the first one to the ball on a touchback, and was the first one to hit the receiver on a muffed catch (he knocked his own helmet off in the process).
Do yourselves a favor and focus on #46 on kickoffs. Thank me later.
