Predictions on ISU/IOwa betting line

Iowa's defense is much to, shall we say, inconsistent. I hate it, but ISU by 20 and pulling away in the final five minutes.
I agree. It's an odd line though. This is why I don't gamble, because this line screams bet the house, the car, and anything else I have someone might want.

What makes you think they won't be able to stop Pemsl? He has scored against bad defenses and ISU actually plays defense this year.

Pemsl put up 18 against Notre Dame. ISU is playing better perimeter defense, they still have nobody down low. Pemsl will have about 2 inches and and 40-50 lbs on whoever is guarding him.

Is ISU that small? I thought they added some graduate transfer big guys or a JUCO

Notre Dame's defense is not good, i.e. 88th on Ken Pom. ISU's defense is ranked 22 on Ken Pom.

They have Holden is who is listed as 6'8 225, Bowie who is 6'7 220, Young, 6'8 240 and Burton 6'5 250 as their front court.

Bowie is 6'6, Burton is 6'4. Holden is a stick and barely plays because he's not good and can't play defense without fouling. Young is closer to 6'6 and doesn't play.
Holden and Bowie will be matching up Pemsl for the majority of the game and give up significant size. Cinci bigs worked on the glass.

Official line is ISU -7

7 sounds about right. We certainly owe these punks and just might have a chance at Carver, somewhat better than at Hilton where the fans own the refs.....

Of course, everything depends on containing Monte Morris.....

iSU's spacing and great guard play is the perfect foil to the Hawks at this point. I think you see Morris have a minimum of 20 pts and 7 assists and Naz and Thomas to both shoot 45% plus from the 3pt line and a 23 pt Clown victory. I honestly don't see Carver Hawkeye as any sort of home court advantage. The Hawk's nest is weak sauce and the court-side crocheters, while great donors, are terrible fans.
Iowa's only shot IMO is to slow the game down, space the floor and be ultra aggressive going to the rim.

We might get hot and win, but it won't be because we slow it down and space the floor. That's just not in this team's DNA.

As much as I hate to say it, it will be tough to keep it within 20. Of course there's always the chance our defense plays better or the clowns do stupid stuff. They have good players but their IQ runs in the single digits.
I took the spread from 5 separate co-workers in my office at $10 a piece. I crunch numbers for a living and am well aware of what's smart or not, but I am not backing down from a goddamn ISU fan.

Offer to buy them a beer if they will drink it listening to "In heaven there is no beer"
Good job Fryowa!
I hope all you Hawkeye Bettors heeded my advice!!!
I'm all paid up. What a sweet ass morning this has been.

And I made sure to tell all of them that the money is gonna finish up my Christmas shopping by buying my son a hoodie he wants from Black and Gold.

So yes, clown fans just bought me Hawkeye gear.

4 of them know they got owned by the Hawks but the 5th said the refs let us hack them to death and called everything on ISWho.
