Postive National Spotlight!

After this last week, we're in. I don't think our conference will be as difficult as many others believe.

Lol at all the Illinois mouth breathers getting butt hurt in the comments. I can't wait til White, woody and Basabe dominate the paint against those loserz. They got no good big guys.

The Hawks are anything but "in". There were some positive strides made over the weekend for sure. The B1G is every bit as hard as people were thinking. In fact there are a few teams in the B1G who are on a completely different level than the rest of the conference and the rest of the conference is made up of teams that can all beat Iowa. Iowa has the ability to claim a spot as one of those second tier teams and will need to keep progressing to do so. Remember though, Iowa's conference schedule is front loaded. It's possible but a lot needs to happen including shooting better from beyond the arc.

The 3 shooting is the key! If we can hit a better percent from outside , It will allow or inside guys to be even better than what they are now.

Anybody else nominate this for dumb post of the month?

He's a Clown fan, pretending to be a Panther fan for some reason. He's playing a long troll, and he's playing it very, very poorly.

Hey Byoung, adding the "We" and "our" was a good touch though. Keep plugging away.

Didn't this site have a thread last week where alot of people were saying they weren't confident because of how young this team was, to now one win over ISU and an article from ESPN has put all the worries away.

If Iowa loses on a neutral court to UNI is everyone gonna still feel confident? I am hoping they do beat UNI but if they don't or as the season goes on if Iowa loses to anyone else is everyone gonna flip/flop back and forth.

Let these boys play the games if they make the tourney then so be it. If they don't they gained alot of experience this year and should only be better next year. But until they are young, they are going to make mistakes. Plus the B1G is good and fairly deep this year too.

So are we back yet? I still have memories of VT and Wichita State just pummeling us on the boards. So that's corrected huh. Ok then, bring on the Panthers. Iowa State has a few decent big men, but nothing like what we will face with MSU, OSU, and Indiana. I'm hopeful...but the cat is out of the bag on our rebounding prowess. I was also able to watch a little of Minnesota the other night...very athletic and well coached. Damn, they really put a body on people on the defensive glass...to the last man, they were really fundamentally sound boxing people out. It was very impressive and something we struggle doing right now...our guys are turning to go get the ball or relying on their length. That will kill you in conference.

Really Ghost? A Clown fan? Cmon. You gotta be able to do better than that.

Have to start knocking down some 3 pointers. If the abyssmal shooting continues, I think McCaffrey has to reign some guys in. McCabe and Oglesby missing 3's results in breaks for the opposition and we aren't a very quick team on D with those two on the floor.

Not really. With the combination from Woody, Mel and Whitey on the inside and the ability of Dev to score from anywhere, along with Gessel... Iowa has proven that they can beat teams when they can't make 3 pointers.

Having said that the Hawks need to play great defense and rebound with fury when they don't hit 3 pointers from the "elite" teams.

When Iowa can hit 3 pointers (38% plus or so) and defend the 3 they can beat anyone.
