Palm (whose typically been the most favorable to Iowa and the B14) has Hawks down 1 seed, to #7.

Linardi (whose generally had Iowa a seed below Palm over the past few weeks) still has Iowa a #7, although, I'm not sure he's updated yet this morning because it looks very close to the same pod as pre-PSU pant-wetting.

USAToday - I haven't followed them at all. They have what most here think is the correct result of the PSU puking - Iowa #8.

Oh, I mentioned it this somewhere 'round here, yesterday, but here might be one of the key postseason stats regarding the Hawks ...

0 - 4 on neutral courts this season.:eek:
 
I think they'll end up an 8 and it's just frustrating to have them play so well and close out the season and the 7 seed provided some hope if they could win the first round.

Now, if they win, I don't think there is a 1 seed we can beat.

Including the BTT & the NCAA last year, the Hawks have lost the last six on neutral courts. The last win on a neutral court was in Des Moines last season.
 
I don't think the seeding matters that much. It is all about the matchup. I'm expecting anywhere from a 7 seed to a 10 seed. Iowa is a dangerous team, but they much shoot the ball well. They sure didn't do that against Penn State (they did shoot very well in 5 of their previous 6 games)

Precisely. That's the killer about yesterday's game.. It probably doomed us to that fate.

Maybe Iowa loses to KU or Gonzaga too, but I at least give Iowa a chance. I'm not sold on KU being as good as normal - they've had a lot of close calls. And Gonzaga hasn't exactly had a great track record of getting to the Sweet 16 or beyond, even with a high seed.

Let's not look too far ahead with this team.

The Dance committee could look at the PSU loss as more of a bad shooting game and not penalize them too much by giving them the 7 seed.

I think that is what is going to happen.

Here is the thing too, seeds from 8/9 on down to the last 4 in teams is extremely weak this year. It may be that Iowa retains the 7 seed just because the teams behind it simply are not good enough to be on that line. NC State is a team i am thinking of bc they were smoked by Duke. Is VCU, Ole Miss, or oregon legitametly better teams than us. Hopefully no lower teir team wins their tourney and moves up, but we may keep it just bc our resume is better at this point. Plus make sure you root for UNC to win their tourney bc that win will look even better if they win it.
 
am i crazy or do ALL of those have Iowa in Omaha? That's gotta be a little of an advantage you'd think.

I hope your right but I think we were a solid 7 seed with one bad loss. We now became a team with 2 bad losses. I just have a feeling we are looking at an 8 seed now.
