Post Game was the best part

Fran was asked about the start of the second half. In a very analytical tone he said (Paraphrasing) we didn't score and they did and that's something we have to change! Oh really

On the other hand the opposing coach started talking about our second half problems without being asked. That prompted the question of what to do about it and he had some suggestions. Then he talked about our shooting or lack thereof again without being asked. He said he saw on the tape when we missed a shot we put our heads down. His advice was for the players to get a bit more thick skinned. The guy was a real card.

Im sorry but the more I see of Fran McCaffrey coached teams the more I think a change is coming

I heard and that coach earned my respect after his first sentence and I wish the best for him. A recording needs to be shown to the players. Nailed Iowa on the head with everything he said. Kids gotta love to play for a guy like that.

I liked Utoff's interview. Very honest assessment of his struggles knocking shots down but confident that he will get his shooting turned around.

Actually, I'd like to see him play more inside. I know it gets clogged in there with White and Woodbury, but I'd like to see Uthoff post up low and drive more into the paint. He's a good passer, and he can also draw more fouls when he's aggressive to the hoop. It also gets him in better position to get some put backs.

Uthoff played much more aggressive. He needs to keep it up, period...

Driscoll was fantastic and absolutely spot on.

How come the guy who's played us one time can see that many problems and Fran can't?

I think that Fran has said those assessments until the players became so afraid and became what they recently become; thus, Fran and Driscoll are friends so Fran asked Driscoll to conveniently laid it out in the postgame without any reporters directly asking about it. If anyone listened to the presser, he offered it freely and honestly. I think Fran probably asked his buddy to reiterate it publicly so it doesn't seem that Fran is throwing any of the players under the bus. I can respect Fran for this scenario.

Because that sounds like something a respectable and trusted coach would do to get through to his players...

I, too, wondered if Fran green-lighted that. They seemed to spend more than the usual amount of time talking during post-game handshakes, with Fran doing most of the talking.

He literally said "Aaron White needs to dunk on guys". Great coaching, come on Aaron if you would just dunk on guys all the time, we'd be undefeated!

I think that was an illustration. I thought his larger message was that White needs to find himself in areas of the court where he provides the most value to the team, e.g., down around the basket where he can convert on scoring opportunities inside.

You must have missed when he mentioned players body language, thin skin, and mentioned each player by number and what they need to do.

You mean this part?

Jarrod Uthoff needs to either decide to shoot threes or post up. Aaron White needs to dunk on guys. Peter Jok is just an OK shooter but has a nice mid-range game. Mike Gesell needs to be more aggressive early in the shot clock. And Gabe Olaseni? "It doesn't matter. I love that kid. That kid's a beast."

"With zero, it doesn't matter, cuz he's just a. I love that kid. That kid, that kid's a beast."

But not a starter....

Love this guy, and he was spot on.....It is Fran's job to get the most out of his players, and he is flat out not doing his job right now.
