Good point. But his number one legacy was getting the fanbase to turn on itself. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder if I can find evidence of that starting to happen???

Tom just played golf too much and wouldn't quit running the wheel on offense....but an impossible guy to hate. Alfraud was a Grade A Pri***, and Ferments can be a stubborn and smug ass himself who has "Almost" everyone fooled by donating about 1% of his net worth to worthy causes.....nice, but I'm not fooled by you. You leverage the University by looking at NFL jobs, but disown recruits for looking at other schools. Jerk!!!
When did KF ever look for an NFL job since he has been at Iowa? Sources please, I can't wait! Because his named was 'mentioned' by NFL pundits as a possibility doesn't mean he ever 'looked' at an NFL job.........

Alford would have 17-14 and 16-13 seasons and act like we should be grateful that they were winning seasons. Ferentz is getting to that point as well.

Tom Davis was a good man. No need to drag him down by comparing to Ferentz. Mr. Davis exuded class, treated his players and Iowa Fans with respect. Truly one of the nice guys of the world. I do not recall contracts ever being an issue with Mr. Davis. His teams played an up tempo, pressing style and for the vast majority of seasons were fun to watch.

The Davis comparison is better.
Major similarities are weak recruiting (Did Davis ever leave the state? How many big-time recruits not from Iowa or borders?) and weak offensive system (Did Tom practice any plays? Halfcourt offense generally was "pass it around the perimeter until somebody puts up a shot" - no coordinated effort)

All I know is that we were a terrible fanbase for not recognizing that 6 consecutive winning seasons were awesome, just like we were terrible for not keeping Mr. Davis, just like we are terrible for not accepting that lil ole Iowa shouldn't expect more than 7 wins per season. We're just a bunch of horrible horrible fans who need to be happy with not being Iowa State.
What a bunch of little whiners! Maybe go follow Art Briles or Sweater Vest at Youngstown State. Those are a couple of high class coaches. But hey they won.
