Since I have seem some for both on this game date I wanted to post a poll just to see what everyone thought. I for one like Saturday games but that is just because of personal reasons as I have to drive 3 hours to get to the games and I would have to work on that Friday. I agree it is great for TV exposure but me for one would like it to stay on Saturday.

Definitely in favor! I know there are some who will be mad because they'll have to work, but I'm not one of them. ;)

With only a few games on that day, it'll be some good national exposure.

Listen it sucks if you have to work, but there can be no doubt it will be terrific exposure for the program which ultimately trumps any of that. It's also much better for the players as they get to enjoy a 2 day weekend off including time with the family.

You can't save one vacation day? Call in sick. I can't think of a better day to beat Nebraska.

Unless you are in retail or work at the post office, I don't understand "having" to work that day. What business stays open on that day? Also, if you work at either of those two places, you would normally be working on Saturday as well. Just makes no sense to me.

At that time of year anything agriculturally related. And since it is a game between Iowa and Nebby.....

Also, those same places will be open on Saturday too, so it doesn't really matter. I'm a fan of it.:D

I think you would be surprised at the number of "offices" that have people come in on that Friday. Thankfully mine isn't one of them, but I know people that work at Principal in Des Moines and it rotates every year with some in their department, but some work the Friday after Thanksgiving then get Christmas Eve off and the following year they get that Friday off but then work Christmas Eve. They don't do anything at work those days, but Principal still says they have to be there.

My wife works in the medical field and they typically are open for appointments on the Friday after Turkey. Since the first home game will not be until Nov 2012, that give my 1 1/2 years to find a baby sitter for our boys.

It will be great exposure for the school and football program.

The day after Thanksgiving and bowl games are the only times college football should not be played on a Saturday. I love this idea especially if it's in prime time.

I'm sending in the order with the season tickets....can't think of anything better than getting on the road to head to Lincoln immeadiatly following the Turkey!!
I am kind of hoping it will be a 2:30 or 3:30 start so that I can drive in that day/morning.

I can't grease the skids for this years game but I will definatly put it in motion to get that day off every other year if at all possible. Either that or I might have to get out of manufacturing all together and find other employment. I can't miss the first meeting between the two in historic Kinnick.

Thanks everyone for the comments and taking the time to do the poll.

I'm just hoping that it can be watched by a lot of people who get to see a Hawkeye win.

We always ***** about not getting respect by national media, this is a good chance to get in front of them.

You're joking right?? Off the top of my head....

1) Healthcare
2) Transportation
3) Financial jobs

My wife is a nurse, nurses work holidays. Its a busy time for transportation companies of which I work at one. My brother works at Aegon and they work that day (I'm pretty certain the market is open that day). So a lot of companies work the day after Thanksgiving. And that is why I think it's a bad idea. And for those that are fortunate enough to not have to work, many are travelling to visit family and may not be back home by Friday to get to the game. I get the national exposure, and that is great no doubt. But, unfortunately it will make things very difficult for a lot of people. At this point even if I'm allowed to use a vacation day at work that day, I still need to figure out who is going to watch the kids as my wife will be working the day after Thanksgiving next year. I'm sure I'm not alone in this dilemma. So yeah, for selfish reasons I don't like this at all.
