That 2009 Iowa team was truly great. I'll always wonder what would have happened if Stanzi had not been injured in the 2nd quarter of the Northwestern game

We would have probably beaten NU and OSU and finished 3rd in the regular season, left out of the title game in favor of Texas and Bama. Then, we would have had to play Oregon in the Rose Bowl. I'm not guaranteeing a loss in that one, but I'm not sure our defense would have matched up as well with them as we did with GT. Sad thing is that team would have had a puncher's chance against Bama or Texas for the title, though. That is probably the closest Iowa will get to a natty in our lifetimes because the new process that would require us to win 3 huge games in a row is an impossible hurdle for our boys.
