Playing against former coach..

ISU vs Creighton got me thinking. How would you feel playing against your former coach? If Alford came to Carver, how would he be welcomed? Same thing with Lick.

ISU gave McDermott some boos, but not to harsh. Creighton actually helped ISU out by getting rid of him, so ISU fans cant be too mad at the guy--well except for some crappy seasons of bball.

I dont think that Alford would receive anything close to a warm welcome if he were to ever come back to CHA. He burned way too many bridges during his time in Iowa City.

Now Lick on the other hand I dont think would recieve a standing ovation by any means but I also dont think he would be boo'd out of town. I may be wrong but that is certainly my take on it.

Both SA and LIck would be get boo's. SA would recieve a lot louder boo's, at least Lick had some class when he was told to leave and wasn't looking for jobs while still employed by Iowa.

IIRC i don't think i've heard anything from lick, he's handled it a lot more professionally than i probably would have. sure he'd get some boo's, but alford would really get heckled.

It seemed like Mr. Davis got a pretty warm welcome when he came to Iowa City with his Drake team a few years back. Goes to show how well liked he really was.

I'm sure Alford would get razzed mercilessly, with Lick, probably a "meh" reaction from the crowd I would suspect.

Depends when it would happen. I don't know if Alford would get booed out of the building anymore. It seems like we've moved past him however he wouldn't be received warmly.

I don't think a lot of people would remember Lickliter because it's not like Iowa basketball was ever a hot ticket while he was here thus he'd probably receive no ovation or some applause because Iowa fans usually seem to cheer for old coaches.

I'd boo the living daylights out of Alford, and he'd hear from me from my seat location all game long. Lick...I'd just ignore him. "Meh" was the right term there.

After the game Diante Garret hugged McDermott.....no bad feelings it looks like.

Besides, we have Hoiberg now.
