#1 That is just dumb. isu got beaten on the boards badly. (period)
#2 Uh, ok. 1 point more. Way to dominate.
#3 You can play your bench with confidence because they still contribute at the same level as your starters. At least Iowa can. Don't follow isu, so i don't know. Also, your starters stay fresh.
I'm not the one touting our awesome bench. That's you guys. I have probably heard over 200 times in the past week, how "amazingly deep" Iowa is. I was just pointing out that our bench outscored yours and clearly there are other factors that help decide the outcome of a game.
That doesn't mean that you can't use your depth to your advantage. I was responding to glidinghawk's assertion that you were the "better, deeper team".
Better is certainly debatable. We won. Of course it helped that we played at home. With that said, we certainly didn't play a great game.
As to depth, you probably do have more depth, but my point is that games aren't awarded to the team that plays the deepest bench. I will stick by my point that depth is often overrated.
As to the rebounding comment, it's a moot point. The team that scores the most is who wins, not who grabs the most boards. We've all lost games where we dominated the glass.
Either way, I think Iowa is a very good team. It was a truly entertaining game. I think this will be a battle as long as Fred and Fran are coaching their respective schools.
