Planets

For an amatuer wanting to see Saturns rings or Jupiters moons what does it take.

A good 4 inch telescope by Meade or Celestron should show those objects but a 6 inch or bigger would be better. If someone wants to spend some dough make sure to get a motor clock driven mount to follow the motion of the stars.
 
I had some unfinished joke about something like "If I wanted to look at giant slow moving balls of gas I would..."
But then I couldn't figure out a good way to end the joke. I like to keep things on topic here.
