Has Kirk ever said anything about how long he wants to keep coaching? How long do you think he will keep going?

I'm not Rob, but I will take a crack at your over/unders:
  • Petras - 2,400 passing yards (over; true Soph Stanley exceeded that number with a bad WR crew; RS soph Petras with these receivers, plus emerging TEs, will be closer to 3,000 than to 2,400)

  • Goodson - 900 rushing yards (under; it is a question of durability; he will exceed it if he does not miss time, but I think chances are he gets a bit banged up, putting him just short)

  • Petras - 18 passing tds (that's a good #; Stanley was over in '17 and '18 with 26 each year, but under last year with 16; CJ was under in '16 and '15 with 17 each year; CJ and Ruddock combined had 21 in '14; heart says over, but that might be the optimist in me)

  • Goodson - 7 rushing tds (last year is the first since 2007 that our lead back did not exceed that number; but I could see that repeating itself if Goodson struggles with injuries, or Sargent ends up the short-yardage guy)

  • ISM Receiving yards - 850 yds (under; 722 this year; I think next year he will get more attention, and I think having a healthy B. Smith and more experienced Ragaini/Tracy/LaPorta steals some opportunities through the air; I bet he exceeds his 108 yards rushing from last year)

  • Brandon Smith tds - 7 (under; Fant ('17 and '18) is the only guy to hit or exceed that number since McNutt in 2011; ball will get spread around)

  • Team Sacks - 25 (under; we have been spoiled the last 2 years with A. Nelson and AJE, 2 very talented pass-rushers)

  • Team Interceptions - 12 (good number; the exact number they hit last year; the 2 years prior they were 20 and 21; I think back 7 will be very good, but there will not be as much pressure; I think they might eke this one over)

Aside from Petras who has basically been named the starting QB for 2020, who on the roster who didn't play at all or played very little in 2019 will have the biggest impact on the team in 2020.

As meticulous as Kirk is, he cannot be happy playing Minnesota on a short week following the Iowa State game. With an already brutal schedule, do you think Iowa got screwed by the B1G by awarding Fleck a Friday night game with the Hawks?

Will KF let BF continue to evolve the offense into a 21st century type offense, similar to what we saw in the Holiday Bowl?

Usually the bowl practice gets a few guys noticed that are making a move up. Because the shortened practice time before this years bowl, player development didn't seem to get as much attention. Were their any notable underclassmen worth mentioning this year?

Will record once I get kids off to school and some coffee in me. Still some time to get in questions if you have any.

Are you saying that because we didn't hear the feel good stories or because you heard something else?

Because the team still got the same amount of practices, just a week less time to have those practices.

I realize they had the same amount of practices. Kirk Ferentz talked about the compressed time schedule and how it affected bowl prep and development. What I gathered was there was more of an emphasis on getting everyone up to speed for the bowl and less on player development.

That being said, I still wonder if there were any indications of progress, in addition to a really nice bowl win.
